Ratnagiri Tourism

Ratnagiri is a port city which is situated in the southwestern part of Maharashtra. Ratnagiri is surrounded with virgin beaches that attract the tourists. Been located in the pretty surroundings, Ratnagiri offers a refreshing environment to the visitors. Ratnagiri is an excellent destination to enjoy a weekend.

The fertile alluvial valleys in Ratnagiri favor the production of abundant rice, coconuts, cashew nuts, and fruits, “Hapus” mangoes being one of the main fruits. Ratnagiri offers several diverse attractions for the tourists. It is blessed with hills, sea shores, creeks, beautiful rivers, hot water springs, forests and water falls.

Sindhudurg Tourism

Sindhudurg is part of Konkan region which lies between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea. It is bordered on the north by Ratnagiri District, on the south by the state of Goa, on the west by the Arabian Sea, and to the east across the crest of the Western Ghats or Sayadhris is Kolhapur District.


Sindhudurg is the first district in Maharashtra to be declared as the Tourism District. This district has attained its named from the famous sea fort Sindhudurg that was constructed by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It is well known for tropical fruits such as Alphonso mangoes, cashews, Jamuns etc.

Raigad Tourism

Raigad District is located in south western side of Maharashtra State. The head quarter of Raigad District is Alibag. Raigad Fort is situated in Raigad District. It was the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji’s kingdom.

The main attractions in Raigad are Murud-Janjira Fort, Raigad Fort, Matheran, Mandava and Kihim Beach, Harihareshwar Beach, Shrivardhan Beach, Dive Aagar Beach, etc.

Thane Tourism

Thane is a district which is situated in the north-west side of Maharashtra State. Thane city is located at an elevation of 7 meters above sea level. Thane city covers an area of 147 km2. The Head Quarter of Thane District is Thane city. Thane is primarily an industrial district. Thane is well connected with its neighbouring suburbs through Central Railways’ sub-urban railway network.

Thane District has two main rivers, many small creeks, lakes and hot springs. Thane city is known as the city of lakes. It is surrounded by scenic hills, the hill of Yeoor and Parsik Hill. Thane city has around 30 lakes. The most beautiful of them is the Masunda Talao, also known as Talao Pali. Festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri and Durga Puja are celebrated with great zest in the city.
